Samsung held its first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2026 on Wednesday, February 25, at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. The event carried the theme “Your Companion to AI Living,” centred on what Samsung calls Agentic AI — software designed to anticipate user needs and complete multi-step actions across devices without constant prompts.
The keynote introduced the Galaxy S26 series, a redesigned Galaxy Buds4 lineup, the long-rumoured Galaxy Z TriFold, and Samsung’s first multimodal AI smart glasses.
Here’s everything Samsung announced at Galaxy Unpacked 2026.
Product announcements at Galaxy Unpacked 2026
1. Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is Samsung’s most advanced smartphone for 2026. It features a titanium frame and hardware upgrades aimed squarely at power users and professionals.
The headline feature is a built-in Privacy Display, branded Flex Magic Pixel. Instead of relying on removable privacy films, the display adjusts light dispersion at the pixel level. When viewed straight on, users get the full 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X experience with 10-bit colour and up to 3,000 nits of brightness. Viewed from the side, the screen becomes unreadable.
The display is protected by Gorilla Armor 2, which Samsung says reduces glare by up to 75 percent.
Performance is handled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, paired with a redesigned vapour-chamber cooling system that spreads heat more evenly during sustained tasks like gaming or video editing.
On the camera side, the S26 Ultra retains Samsung’s 200-megapixel main sensor, now with a wider aperture that captures 47 percent more light than last year’s model. Video creators can record 8K footage using Samsung’s new APV (Advanced Professional Video) codec for near-lossless post-production quality.

3. Samsung Smart Glasses
Samsung formally entered the AI wearables category with the announcement of its Smart Glasses, developed in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm, with fashion design input from Warby Parker and Gentle Monster.
Weighing just 50 grams, the glasses are designed for all-day wear and run on the Snapdragon AR1 platform with Android XR. Samsung confirmed two versions: a voice-and-sensor model focused on audio-based assistance, and a display model capable of overlaying digital information directly onto the lenses.
A built-in 12MP autofocus camera allows Gemini AI to “see” the wearer’s environment. Samsung demonstrated real-time translation of street signs, object recognition, and contextual suggestions triggered simply by looking at something. The company positioned the glasses as an extension of its multi-agent AI ecosystem rather than a standalone gadget.

4. Galaxy Buds4 Pro

The Galaxy Buds4 Pro received a full redesign focused on comfort, audio quality, and AI-driven interaction. Samsung said it analysed over 100 million ear-shape data points and conducted more than 10,000 fit simulations to refine the new shape, aiming for comfortable wear even during extended use.

5. Galaxy S26+
The Galaxy S26+ sits between the base S26 and the Ultra, targeting users who want a large display without the S Pen or Privacy Display. It features a 6.7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display optimised for gaming and streaming.
A key addition this year is ProScaler, an AI-driven feature that enhances video resolution and colour accuracy in real time, particularly for streaming content. Depending on the region, the S26+ ships with either the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or Exynos 2600, both paired with 12GB of RAM.
The triple-camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor, supported by ultra-wide and telephoto lenses, while the 4,900mAh battery supports 45W wired charging.

Global: $1,099.99
-
Nigeria: approximately ₦1,441,000
6. Galaxy S26
The base Galaxy S26 is the most accessible model in the lineup, but Samsung made several strategic upgrades. RAM is now standardised at 12GB, a 4GB increase over last year, specifically to support on-device Agentic AI features.
Samsung also removed the 128GB storage tier entirely, making 256GB the new baseline. The phone features a 6.3-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display protected by Gorilla Armor 2 and runs on either the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or Exynos 2600, depending on market.
Despite the upgrades, battery capacity remains modest at 4,300mAh, with 25W wired charging.
Price
-
Global: $899.99
-
Nigeria: approximately ₦1,135,000
7. Galaxy Buds4
The standard Galaxy Buds4 brings many of the Pro model’s features at a lower price point. It retains the ML-powered Super Clear Call system with three microphones per earbud and 16kHz bandwidth support, improving call clarity in noisy environments.
The Buds4 also support full Perplexity AI integration via voice commands and come with a semi-transparent charging case, a visual refresh from previous designs.
Price
-
Global: $179.99
-
Nigeria: approximately ₦175,000
Software and feature announcements
Samsung placed heavy emphasis on software at Unpacked 2026, positioning One UI 8.5, based on Android 16, as an “AI OS.” Instead of isolating AI features in separate apps, intelligence is woven directly into the system.
Agentic Bixby and the multi-agent ecosystem
Bixby has been rebuilt as a conversational device agent capable of understanding natural language in context. Samsung demonstrated Bixby completing multi-step tasks across different apps without manual input.
Users can also choose between multiple AI agents:
-
Bixby for device settings and local files
-
Gemini for creative and generative tasks
-
Perplexity AI for web research and cross-referencing information across Notes, Calendar, and Gallery
Perplexity can be activated by saying “Hey Plex” or by long-pressing the side button.
Proactive intelligence with Now Nudge
Now Nudge introduces proactive suggestions. For example, if someone requests photos from a recent event, Galaxy AI surfaces relevant images directly in the message interface.
Now Brief, shown on the lock screen, learns daily routines and displays contextual information such as weather updates, health metrics, and upcoming tasks.
Privacy and Knox Matrix upgrades
Samsung upgraded Knox Matrix with post-quantum cryptography (PQC) for critical services like eSIM transfers. A new device security dashboard shows the status of all connected Galaxy hardware, while Privacy Alerts notify users in real time when apps attempt to access sensitive data.
Creative AI and camera features
Photo Assist allows users to edit images using plain language prompts, while Super Steady 9 introduces horizontal lock stabilisation for smoother video. Samsung also extended its AI image signal processor to the selfie camera for more natural skin tones in challenging lighting.
