According to OwnGoalNigeria, Augustine Eguavoen has resigned from his position as the Super Eagles’ temporary coach.
Eguavoen stated that his “mandate was for two games.”
After efforts to appoint a significant head coach for the national team were unsuccessful, the Nigeria Football Federation, or NFF, appointed its technical director.
He oversaw two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers for Rwanda and Benin Republic in 2025.
The Eagles drew 0-0 in Rwanda on Tuesday after defeating Benin 3-0 on Saturday.
After the match, Eguavoen spoke at the Kigali Airport and declined to discuss the lead-up to Nigeria’s upcoming match against Libya.
“I have been assigned the task of managing two games,” he declared.
“I would like to express my satisfaction with the boys and once more extend my gratitude to the NFF leadership and all the boys who helped me along the way.
“Today is the last day. I haven’t been informed about Libya, so I can’t discuss it.
