Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has given the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) a 24-hour deadline to address unresolved air ticket refunds, particularly from airlines that have recently halted operations.
Speaking at the launch of the NCAA Consumer Protection Portal at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, Keyamo highlighted ongoing complaints from passengers unable to reclaim their funds. He emphasized that the NCAA must publicly communicate its actions regarding these refunds by Friday.
While he didn’t specify which airlines were involved, it’s known that Azman Air and Dana Air have both suspended flights recently. Keyamo reiterated the importance of consumer protection and urged the NCAA to keep the public informed about the status of their money.
The newly launched portal aims to streamline complaint submissions and improve the overall experience for travelers. Keyamo underscored that the industry’s viability hinges on addressing passenger needs and experiences.
