The Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company (WRPC) has resumed operations, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s refining capacity. Located in Warri, Delta State, the facility has a production capacity of 125,000 barrels per day. This development was confirmed by Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
Kyari described the restart as a crucial step towards boosting domestic refining capabilities and reducing the nation’s reliance on imported petroleum products. The announcement comes as part of broader efforts to revitalize Nigeria’s energy infrastructure.
