In a significant stride toward enhancing media infrastructure in Lagos, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu recently graced the opening of TVC’s state-of-the-art studio located in the prestigious Eko Atlantic City. The governor, who was the first guest to appear in the new studio, participated in a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony to mark the milestone event.
During his appearance on the station’s morning show, the governor reaffirmed Lagos State’s unwavering commitment to local government autonomy. He emphasized that the state government has fully complied with constitutional provisions, ensuring that local government funds remain untampered.
“Lagos State has always respected the autonomy of local councils. We have never interfered with their finances. This is part of our governance model that prioritizes transparency and accountability,” Governor Sanwo-Olu stated.
In addition to governance discussions, the governor highlighted Lagos’ ongoing efforts to bolster economic growth through innovative infrastructure projects. One of the most ambitious projects under development is the creation of the largest food logistics hub in Sub-Saharan Africa. The hub, according to the governor, aims to streamline food distribution across the region, reduce wastage, and boost food security.
The event at TVC’s new studio further underscores Lagos State’s focus on fostering growth across multiple sectors, from governance to media and infrastructure. Governor Sanwo-Olu’s appearance served as a testament to his administration’s commitment to driving progress and maintaining Lagos’ status as a hub of innovation in Africa.
