OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Pulse, a new feature that positions its chatbot as a personalized AI assistant designed to deliver daily updates.
Currently in preview for ChatGPT Pro users on mobile, Pulse offers a feed of visual cards tailored to each user’s activity, preferences, and feedback. The updates can cover travel tips, recipe ideas, reminders, or even progress toward long-term goals such as fitness training.
Unlike the traditional ChatGPT, where users initiate every query, Pulse operates proactively. Each night it reviews past interactions and generates the next day’s recommendations. OpenAI says the goal is to help people stay productive while avoiding the constant scrolling associated with other apps. Daily updates disappear unless saved into a chat or expanded for deeper use.
Pulse also comes with optional Gmail and Google Calendar integrations, allowing it to suggest activities, highlight important emails, or draft agendas. OpenAI emphasized that these tools are opt-in and user-controlled.
“Every morning, we want Pulse to give you the information you need so you can get back to what matters most,” the company said in its announcement.
Feedback from early testers suggests Pulse becomes more useful over time as users share what they want surfaced. OpenAI plans to expand access beyond Pro subscribers, first to Plus users and eventually to everyone.
The release shows the broader trend of AI assistants moving into everyday life. A recent study by OpenAI and Harvard economist David Deming showed that about 70% of ChatGPT use is personal rather than work-related. This just shows the growing demand for tools that blend seamlessly into daily routines.
