Tacha Akide, an entrepreneur and reality TV star, has once again demonstrated that she is more than just a talker. The former Big Brother Naija star did not let anyone down when she set an ambitious goal to set a Guinness World Record for the most makeovers done in a 24-hour period over the weekend.
The event was a part of her Tacha Beauty Festival, a lively celebration of Nigerian beauty, inventiveness, and tenacity, and it was held at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History in Lagos. Fans and bystanders cheered in delight as Tacha reportedly finished 145 makeovers in a single day after working nonstop with her team.
Tacha stated that she had the option of hosting the record attempt in London, but she decided to do so in Nigeria in order to highlight the skill and tenacity of the local creatives. She stated during the event, “I wanted to show that big things can happen right here at home.”
Videos and posts from the marathon were shared on social media in droves, with hashtags like #TachaWorldRecord and #TachaBeautyFestival trending on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).
Although she’s still awaiting official confirmation from Guinness World Records, fans already believe she’s a winner for putting Nigeria on the global spotlight once again.
If verified, Tacha’s name could be etched in the Guinness Book of Records and this might just be one of the most inspiring beauty stories of 2025.
