Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc has announced the resignation of its Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (GMD/CEO), Mr. Ravindra Singhvi, effective November 30, 2025. The disclosure was made in line with regulatory requirements of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and communicated to shareholders, investors, and stakeholders.
Mr. Singhvi, who joined the company’s board on May 22, 2020, is credited with steering multiple strategic initiatives, including major investment projects, sustained revenue growth, digital transformation programmes and strengthening the company’s management structure and brand visibility. The Board expressed appreciation for his leadership and contributions to the organisation’s strategic direction during his five-year tenure.
In the same notice, the Board announced the appointment of Mr. Thabo Mabe as the Group Managing Director/CEO-designate, with effect from December 1, 2025. His appointment is subject to ratification at the company’s next general meeting.
Mr. Mabe, a South African national, holds a BSc in Chemistry and Mathematics from Fort Hare University. He began his professional career at Unilever as a Graduate Trainee and rose through various leadership roles across Manufacturing, Production, Sales and Supply Chain Management. By 2004, he had become Vice President, Supply Chain for Unilever HPC. Following the consolidation of Unilever’s business divisions, he was appointed Vice President, Homecare, and later joined the Board of Directors before becoming CEO of Unilever Nigeria Plc in 2010. His tenure saw increased market share and significant optimisation of the company’s production systems.
He joined the Dangote Group in 2014 as Managing Director/CEO of Dangote Flour Mills Plc., where he led a successful turnaround of the business. After the Group’s divestment from the flour segment in 2019, he was seconded to Dangote Rice Limited as Managing Director. In 2022, he became Managing Director of NASCON Allied Industries Plc before being named the incoming GMD/CEO of Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc.
According to the company, Mr. Mabe brings extensive international experience spanning South Africa, Germany, and Nigeria, alongside a notable track record within the Dangote Group’s food businesses. His appointment aligns with the organisation’s succession plan and commitment to ensuring continuity and long-term value creation.
The Board formally welcomed Mr. Mabe to his new role and extended its best wishes to Mr. Singhvi in his future endeavours.
