Florentino Pérez has been re-elected as president of Real Madrid, extending his leadership until 2029. The club’s Electoral Board announced his continuation after no other candidates presented themselves for the position.
At 77 years old, Pérez embarks on his seventh term, having previously led the club from 2000 to 2006 and from 2009 to the present. Under his stewardship, Real Madrid has secured 37 football titles and 28 basketball titles. Notably, the club achieved record revenues of €1.073 billion in the 2023-2024 season, surpassing initial expectations.
Pérez’s tenure has been marked by significant infrastructural developments, including the construction of the Valdebebas training complex and the ongoing renovation of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Looking ahead, his objectives encompass completing the stadium’s modernization, increasing its revenue streams, expanding the club’s training facilities, and advancing the European Super League project.
The re-election process adhered to Article 40 of Real Madrid’s Social Statutes, which stipulates that in the absence of opposing candidates, the standing president is automatically re-elected.
