After a legal battle with his ex-girlfriend, Charlotte Powdrell, Israel Adesanya, the former two-time UFC Middleweight Champion, got a $500,000 compensation.
Powdrell allegedly sued Adesanya, claiming she was owed a portion of her estimated $15 million fortune. Even though they were never married, Powdrell allegedly claimed she was entitled to a share of his fortune, which was the basis for the complaint.
Adesanya, however, received a surprising turnabout when the court decided in his favor and he left with a monetary victory. Instead of losing any of his fortune, the UFC star reportedly received a $500,000 payoff from Powdrell.
Taiwo Adesanya, Adesanya’s mother, is accused of handling his money since the start of his career, which was a startling revelation throughout the hearing. According to reports, this arrangement maintained his net worth legally listed at “zero,” which might have been a major factor in the court’s ruling.
Known for dominating in the octagon, Adesanya has not yet made a public statement regarding the result. Fans and social media users have been responding to the news, though, with many expressing surprise at the unexpected decision.
