The Lagos State Governor announced a significant expansion of the Red Line Rail Service, aimed at improving commuting efficiency for residents.
Starting tomorrow, the Red Line will increase its capacity by operating five morning trips and four evening trips daily, a notable improvement from the current two-morning trips. This enhancement is expected to provide better travel options for commuters along the Agbado–Oyingbo corridor.
According to the statement, the total journey time from Agbado to Oyingbo remains at an impressive 50 minutes, with reduced waiting times of just two minutes at each station. These upgrades reinforce the state’s commitment to delivering a fast, reliable, and convenient transportation system.
The Governor further highlighted that the arrival of three new train sets will significantly boost the Red Line’s capacity, ensuring a seamless and efficient commuting experience for Lagos residents. He emphasized that the Red Line is more than just a train service it represents a transformative shift in urban mobility, fostering connectivity, economic growth, and an improved quality of life across the city.
