Mark Zuckerberg has officially ascended to the position of the world’s second-richest individual for the first time, surpassing Jeff Bezos on Thursday as the stock value of Meta Platforms Inc. continues to rise.
Zuckerberg’s investment in the metaverse, which initially seemed to be a significant miscalculation, has recently yielded substantial returns, elevating his net worth to an impressive $206.2 billion. This places him $1.1 billion ahead of Amazon.com Inc.’s Bezos and nearly $50 billion behind Elon Musk of Tesla Inc.
