Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the president on information and strategy, announced on Wednesday that the president intends to reorganize his cabinet. While he did not confirm whether this would happen before October 1, Onanuga assured reporters that the reshuffle is imminent.
The president has also urged his ministers to actively highlight the administration’s accomplishments, as many citizens are unaware of the government’s significant progress. Onanuga noted that some ministers have been reluctant to engage publicly about these successes.
Supporting Onanuga’s statement, O’tega Ogra, senior special assistant to the president on digital and new media, confirmed that the cabinet reshuffle will take place soon. Ogra stated that this decision will be informed by performance evaluations conducted by Hadiza Bala-Usman, the special adviser on policy coordination and head of the central delivery coordination unit.
Ogra emphasized that the president’s decision will be grounded in empirical evidence, with ongoing reviews influencing the final outcomes. “The president is gathering insights from multiple reports, and when he deems it necessary, the reshuffle will occur,” he added.
