The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has directed telecom operators to immediately reactivate all phone lines that were blocked due to non-compliance with the NIN-SIM linkage policy.
The commission’s directive comes after millions of subscribers were left stranded over the weekend, unable to access their phone lines due to the blockage.
The NCC stated that the reactivation is temporary, allowing consumers to properly link their National Identification Numbers (NINs) with their Subscriber Identification Modules (SIMs) before the new deadline of July 31, 2024.
Subscribers are urged to take advantage of this window to verify their NINs and avoid future disruptions. Failure to comply with the directive may result in permanent disconnection of affected lines.
With this directive, affected subscribers can now breathe a sigh of relief as they can access their phone lines and continue with their daily activities without interruption.
