The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a fresh reduction in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol.
According to a company statement released over the weekend, the new gantry price has been pegged at N840 per litre, effective June 30, 2025. This adjustment represents a strategic move by the company to deliver more affordable fuel to the domestic market amid ongoing economic challenges.
Dangote Refinery, Africa’s largest and most sophisticated refining complex, noted that both its petrol and diesel products are refined to meet high-performance standards, optimized for better engine efficiency and reduced emissions.
“We are committed to providing high-quality petroleum products that enhance engine performance while making them more accessible to the Nigerian populace,” the company stated.
This latest price review is expected to positively impact transport costs, logistics, and ultimately, the prices of goods and services across the country.
The refinery, which began operations earlier this year, has already reshaped the downstream sector by reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imported refined fuel. With a refining capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, the facility is gradually positioning itself as a stabilizing force in the nation’s fuel supply chain.
Observers see this price cut as a competitive response to market dynamics and a signal of the refinery’s growing production capacity and operational efficiency.
