The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, was nothing short of historic. From record-breaking wins to groundbreaking firsts, TV’s biggest night gave fans plenty to talk about.
The spotlight shone brightest on The Studio, which took home an incredible 13 Emmys—the most ever for a comedy series in a single season. Seth Rogen snagged Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, while Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder carried Hacks to more comedy gold.
In drama, The Pitt claimed the top honor for Outstanding Drama Series, with Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa also earning acting trophies. But it was Severance that made headlines, with Britt Lower winning Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama and Tramell Tillman making history as the first Black man to win Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
The limited series category belonged to Adolescence, which swept major awards including Outstanding Limited Series and acting wins for Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, and Owen Cooper. At just 15 years old, Cooper became the youngest male Emmy winner in history.
Other big wins included The Traitors for Outstanding Reality Competition, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for Talk Series, and SNL 50: The Anniversary Special as the year’s top variety live special.
From diversity milestones to shattered records, the 2025 Emmys proved that television is still evolving—and fans can’t get enough of the stories redefining the small screen.
