Now that Christmas has arrived, there is no denying the joyous atmosphere. Joy, love, and, of course, an abundance of food are all part of this season. From Lagos to Kano, Enugu to Port Harcourt, people are welcoming the season’s warmth in distinctive and colorful ways.
Many people’s celebrations began with the early morning church services, where attendees, all dressed beautifully, came to give thanks to God for all of His bounties. Heartfelt prayers and passionate hymns are essential to Christmas. You’ll hear echoes of “Merry Christmas” as people shake hands, smile, and give hugs as you stroll the streets.
The kitchens back home are a hive of activity. The aroma of steaming moimoi, peppery jollof rice, and freshly fried chicken permeates the air. Families are getting back together, kids are laughing at their presents, and the sound of laughter and music creates the ideal festive atmosphere. The Christmas tree, adorned with ornaments and colorful lights, is the focal point of some homes.
However, Christmas is more than just the food and celebrations. Give back, share, and express love during this time. A lot of people use the occasion to visit orphanages, give away gifts, and assist those in need.
People are eager to end the year with love and hope for a better tomorrow, so this year’s festive spirit is even more intense. Enjoy the festivities safely, bask in the happiness wherever you are, and allow the spirit of Christmas to serve as a reminder of what really counts: love, family, and time spent together.
From our hearts to yours, Merry Christmas.
