Oluwatoni ‘Toni’ Campbell has been appointed as the Interim CEO Of Leatherback, and Adedayo Amzat, Group Managing Director of Zedcrest has joined as Non-Executive Director. Both bring exceptional leadership experience to further Leatherback’s mission of transforming global payments for individuals and businesses.
This transition follows the departure of Ibrahim Toyeeb Ibitade, who hLagos Nigeria, October 2024as stepped down after five successful years of leading the company through tremendous growth and innovation. Under Ibitade’s guidance, Leatherback expanded its global presence and established itself as a trusted partner in cross-border financial services.
Toni Campbell brings a wealth of experience from his extensive career in investment management and operational leadership. As the Managing Partner of Kinfolk Venture Capital, he has driven early-stage investments in technology companies transforming Africa’s economic landscape. Toni’s background in managing credit and fixed-income portfolios at Arcadia Funds, LLC – where he directed over $550 million in investments – showcases his operational expertise and strategic acumen. His work at Bessemer Venture Partners further equipped him with a vast network and hands-on experience in scaling high-growth companies, which will be instrumental in Leatherback’s ongoing mission to provide a truly borderless experience for its customers.
Adedayo Amzat CFA, the Group Managing Director and CEO of Zedcrest Group brings a wealth of finance and strategy expertise to his appointment as a Non-Executive Director at Leatherback. Zedcrest, the core investor in Leatherback, was recognised by the Financial Times as Africa’s fastest-growing financial services firm in 2022 and operates across various financial services verticals, including securities dealing, investment management, and retail financing. Adedayo Amzat CFA, holds an executive MBA from the London Business School, and his leadership will be vital for Leatherback’s expansion globally.
