The Senate has scheduled a crucial meeting with the Attorney General of the Federation for Thursday to address contentious issues surrounding the proposed G Tax Reform Bills.
Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, announced the decision during Wednesday’s plenary session, highlighting that the resolution followed extensive deliberations within the Senate on the tax reform proposals.
In a significant move, the Senate established a committee to facilitate the process, appointing Senator Abba Moro, the Minority Leader, as its chair.
In the interim, the Senate Committee on Finance has been instructed to suspend further legislative actions on the proposed bills pending the outcome of Thursday’s discussions with the Attorney General.
The meeting is expected to play a pivotal role in bridging gaps and ensuring a consensus on the proposed reforms.
