NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML), a subsidiary of NNPC Limited, and its unincorporated joint venture partner, NIPCO Gas Limited, have signed a Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) with Ssonic Petroleum Limited. This agreement entails the supply of 80 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) of natural gas to Ssonic Petroleum’s proposed Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant, located in the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos State. The contract is set for a duration of 20 years.
This initiative aligns with NNPC’s ongoing efforts to enhance domestic gas utilization, supporting industrial and economic development in Nigeria. By promoting natural gas as a cleaner and more affordable energy source, the partnership contributes to environmental sustainability and global warming reduction goals.
The collaboration also underscores NNPC’s commitment to strategic gas projects across the country, aiming to ensure energy security and stimulate industrial growth. This agreement follows similar partnerships, such as the recent 10-year deal between NNPC and Dangote Refinery for the supply of 100 mmscf/d of natural gas, further emphasizing NNPC’s dedication to bolstering local production and supporting key industries.
