The government of Akwa Ibom State has declared Friday, November 29, 2024, a day off from work in remembrance of the late First Lady, Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno. Her hometown, Ikot Ekpene Udo, in the Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, is the site of her funeral, where locals can pay their final respects on the public holiday.
Pastor Patience Eno died on September 26 after a brief illness. Her Golden campaign for All (GIFA) campaign, which tackled urgent societal issues, left a legacy of humanitarian service. She passed away at the age of 57 and was well-known for her religion and kindness.
There will be a Service of Songs in her country home on November 27 and a Night of Worship and Tributes in Uyo on November 22 during the week before her funeral. Her final farewell will be held on November 29 between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Her contribution has been acknowledged by the state, and this statement provides a chance for locals and supporters to honor her life and legacy. Her distraught spouse, Governor Umo Eno, has sent his appreciation for the tremendous support during this time.
