A terrible event happened in Delta State on Sunday night when suspected kidnappers ambushed and killed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Agbarho Police Station. A rescue operation was headed by the DPO, who had only returned to work two days prior, after receiving distress calls of a kidnapping at the Agbarho railway station. But the squad was unaware of the terrible ambush that the shooters had set up.
The DPO died as a result of the incident, and multiple other officers were wounded. The DPO of Orerokpe Police Station, one of the casualties, is presently in serious condition and struggling for his life in a hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU). According to reports, the attackers also abducted another cop, whose location is still unknown.
The Delta State Police Command has pledged to bring the perpetrators to justice after this horrific incident rocked the community.
