The Senate has issued an arrest warrant for Dr. Peer Lubasch, Managing Director of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, following his repeated failure to honor invitations from the Senate Committee on Works.
The resolution was prompted by a motion from Senate Minority Whip, Senator Osita Ngwu, co-sponsored by Works Committee Chairman, Senator Mpigi Barinada, and Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong of Cross River South.
The lawmakers accused Julius Berger of consistently avoiding accountability regarding allegations of project abandonment and a staggering contract variation from ₦54 billion to ₦195 billion.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced that the date for Lubasch’s compelled appearance will be specified in the arrest warrant.
