Emirates Airlines has officially restarted its operations to Nigeria, with Flight EK 783 landing at Murtala Muhammad International Airport on October 1, 2024, marking the airline’s return since 2022.
The revival of flights comes after the airline resolved issues related to funds trapped in the country. The announcement quickly spread across social media, featuring images of the aircraft’s arrival.
Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, confirmed the news via social media, stating that he and Emirates executives recently returned from discussions in the UAE regarding reciprocal flight rights for Nigerian carriers. A ceremony is planned in Lagos to celebrate Emirates’ return and the reintroduction of Nigerian airlines to the UAE market.
