Rapper and YouTuber DDG recently announced on Instagram that he and Halle Bailey had dissolved their relationship, causing a shock on the internet. The duo, who first revealed their affection in 2022, appeared to be one of Hollywood’s most adored couples, but the split appears to have been a long time coming for admirers who picked up on early warning signals.
DDG, whose full name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., posted a poignant message writing, “After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways.” He highlighted that the decision was difficult but the best for both of them. Despite their breakup, the two continue to be close friends and co-parents to their son, Halo who was born in late 2023.
The couple’s breakup comes after months of rumors of conflict between them. DDG published a song called Famous in 2023, in which he expressed concern about Halle’s on-screen kiss with her Little Mermaid co-star, prompting speculation that jealousy played a role in their relationship problems. To add to the turmoil, DDG’s ex, Rubi Rose, made headlines when she implied Halle had worn her clothes, which sparked even more rumors.
Nonetheless, both DDG and Halle are handling their breakup with dignity. DDG’s Instagram message was clear: they value their relationship and want people to support them during this difficult adjustment.
